This foundational training introduces you to Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL) through a trauma-informed, embodied lens. Designed for therapists, coaches, and healing practitioners, the course explores how horses can become powerful partners in emotional healing and nervous system regulation.

Led by trauma therapist Angela Schellenberg and equine behavior expert Rose Mary Riggs, this course blends grounded theory with nature-based, experiential learning.

By the end of this training, you’ll walk away with:

  • A trauma-informed foundation for ethical equine facilitation

  • Somatic tools to co-regulate with clients and horses

  • Nature-based practices for ritual, metaphor, and grounding

  • Increased nervous system literacy

  • Confidence to hold safe, intuitive space for healing

Inside the Training: 3 Core Modules

  • Module 1: EAL Fundamentals & Ethos

    Discover the unique ethics of trauma-informed equine work and the rich history of horse-human connection.

  • Module 2: Integration with Nature

    Explore the role of the natural world as co-facilitator through ritual, metaphor, and somatic awareness.

  • Module 3: Embodied Movement

    Practice embodied awareness, nervous system tracking, and relational movement with horses.
