How Angela Works
Grief lives in the body. The work meets it there.
Most women who find their way here have already done therapy. They understand their patterns. They know the language. What they haven't found is a way to work with what the body is still holding.
Angela's approach draws on Attachment-Focused EMDR, Mother Hunger® framework, somatic awareness, and equine-assisted healing. These are not separate services to choose between. They are integrated modalities that inform how Angela works with each person.
The starting point is always the same: understanding how early relational history shapes how grief is carried now.
The Attachment Grief Framework
Four Modalities. One Integrated Approach.
Attachment-Focused EMDR
Insight alone does not resolve trauma. EMDR works at the level where grief actually lives, in the nervous system, in the body's memory of early loss. Angela is trained in Attachment-Focused EMDR informed by Laurel Parnell's model.
Mother Hunger® Framework
Developed by Kelly McDaniel, the Mother Hunger framework names the specific grief that comes from maternal absence, neglect, or emotional unavailability. Angela is a certified Mother Hunger® Facilitator and integrates this lens into her broader grief work.
Grief and Attachment Work
New losses often reactivate earlier, ungrieved attachment wounds. This work explores the relational roots of grief, how early history shapes the way loss is carried now, and what integration looks like across time.
Equine Assisted Healing
The nervous system responds to relationship, including with animals. Equine assisted healing offers a somatic entry point that talk alone sometimes cannot reach. Angela offers this modality through the Healing with Horses Somatic Grief Retreat in Malibu.
Choose Your Container
1 Session
A single point of entry
For women who want to experience the work before committing to a longer arc. One session can orient you, begin to resource you, or focus on a specific moment of grief or loss.
Ideal if you are exploring whether this approach is right for you, or returning as an existing client for focused work.
Book a session →3 Sessions
A beginning
3 sessions create enough continuity to begin real work. We can identify what is being held in the body, build a sense of safety, and start to move through a specific layer of grief.
Ideal if you know something needs to shift but are not sure yet what a longer commitment looks like.
Book a session →6 Sessions
A sustained container
6 sessions allow the work to move at the pace the nervous system needs. This is the space for deeper attachment grief, Mother Hunger work, or loss that has been carried for a long time.
Ideal if you are ready to go deeper and want a held, consistent space to do it.
Book a session →10 Sessions
Full immersion
10 sessions create the space for sustained, layered work. This container holds the full arc of grief, attachment repair, and integration over time, without rushing what the body needs to process.
Ideal if you are committed to long-term healing and want a consistent, deeply held relational space.

In Their Words.
I completed the Mother Hunger course with Angela in December 2023. I had read Mother Hunger, and wasn't finding the support I needed in my local community to navigate the complexity of this attachment injury alone. I found Angela's website and learned she does online groups.
MichelleI've had the pleasure of working with Angela for nearly 4 years now. I credit her for immensely helping me tackle the grief of losing my mother at 20, along with the subsequent anxiety and PTSD. I found her use of EMDR for more triggering memories to be very successful. She is someone you feel an instant connection with and are comfortable speaking from the heart to.
